Three Generations of Nordic Fiddling!

The Fifth Annual Nordic Roots Festival will be presented by the Cedar Cultural Center September 19-21st 2003. The Nordic Roots Festival again is bringing in the best new folk acts, old favorites, and a long awaited reunion of the Swedish Supergroup Filarfolket. All performances will be held at the Cedar this year, located at 416 Cedar Avenue S. Minneapolis.


Tickets are now on sale through all outlets and online at Ticketweb. Festival pass* are $75 and can be purchased directly through the Cedar.

Space is limited. Sign up at the Cedar on Friday, by email to tickets@thecedar.org, or call 612/338-2674. If you have not signed up for a session, you may be admitted at the door only if space is available.

The workshop fee is:

  • $25 per session for participants with instruments

  • $10 for silent auditors

  • $8 for lecture-demonstrations

Cash only. Admission will be collected inside each room, after everyone is seated. Time is limited, please have exact change ready as you take your seat. Please note that workshop fees are not covered by the Festival Pass.

Hotel Information
Holiday Inn Metrodome is the sponsoring hotel for the Nordic Roots Festival. To reserve a room call 612-333-4646 and ask for reservations. Tell the reservation agent you want to reserve a room from the Public Block for the Nordic Roots Festival. Rooms are available on a first come, first served basis so make your reservation soon. The cost is $105 per night.
